Hiring Process
Our evaluation and interview
process is designed to enable both you and the
firm to make a well informed, confident decision. Interviews are
traditionally conducted in our original Dearborn office. Our interview
process consists of a one-hour discussion with partners and associates from
the firm regarding your background, education, employment, strengths and
weaknesses, and ambitions in the legal profession. Additionally, the
interview affords you the opportunity to see, hear and learn about the firm
in greater detail from different perspectives.
Offers for summer or full-time
employment are made promptly after the interview. Throughout the year, we
encourage interested hires to reach out and speak with attorneys from our
firm, whether by email or phone.
Our interview process is very
much a two-way exchange of information. It is very important to us that we
make offers only to candidates who have the potential to thrive in our
environment, and it is equally important that candidates who accept an
offer do so because they truly believe John R. Foley, P.C. is the right
place for them.
Although grades are always a
factor, we seek hire students who, through their application package, have
demonstrated that they possess the qualities necessary to succeed in the
practice of law, sometimes even despite a less-than-stellar academic
record. Real-world experience is always important to us.
Once an associate with John R.
Foley, P.C., every attorney begins on an equal and level playing field,
regardless of academic record, schools attended, or any other factors that
may have been considered in the decision to hire. Each new hire is expected
to rise to the challenges of the practice, and to prove herself or himself
capable of learning, growing and exceling at representing our clients'
interests.
